You bet they can!
We have just started the filming Junior MasterChef and they are amazing. I realised again how important it is for children to grow up in an environment that embraces positive food experiences. I was lucky as a child to have exactly this upbringing.
We used food as an enjoyable part of being a family. I was always allowed to help mum in the kitchen and for those times I am so grateful as I wouldn't have developed my creativity and my love for food. There is nothing more exciting than seeing my nieces and nephews having a shot in the kitchen. So my advice if you have kids....involve them and they too can make the cut one day to be on Junior MasterChef or even MasterChef!!!!!!!!
Hi, my son is just on 3 years old. Both my husbanad and I have a very strong hospitality background. My son from the time he can stand on a chair at the kitchen sink has been helping my mum and myself cook. It is amazing! He has set up his play room into a kitchen and has obviously taken all my pots, pans and utencils. He has also watched the last two series of Masterchef everynight without fail. George you are his hero. When you ask him what he wants to do, 'I cooking with George' and yes his favourite restaurant is Hellenic Republic.
I can only hope his passion and love of food continues.
My 11 yo son and 13 yo daughter are so enthusiastic about getting involved in the kitchen after seeing highlights of Junior MasterChef. Their Dad is a great cook who is ecstatic that finally I will allow them to do more serious cooking! Thanks to MasterChef, I too have become more interested in food and cooking. Even our Church uses concepts of the Mystery Box and other elements to teach the kids about God! How cool is that?!
We can't wait for Junior MasterChef on tv. Thanks George for sharing your passion with us all.
Sincerely,
Shereen

My son is 6 years old and he loves Masterchef!!
(Serie 2 is on in Europe)
He has been talking about being a chef for almost a year now. I'm home schooling him and I'm doing tasting lessons and cooking with him once a week and he loves it!
What more can I do to give him a great lesson??

Dear George Calombaris, On November 22nd 2011, Our Lady's School is hosting an inaugural Leadership Conference for our senior students and the leadership teams from other schools in our area. We are very excited at the prospect of being involved in such
an engaging experience. The conference is designed to inspire us to become leaders in our own community as we mature. We have invited speakers who we believe can relate to us and encourage us to take action in our lives in the year ahead. MasterChef is a highly
popular show amongst our conference delegates, and as a judge, you are well known. The wisdom gained through your years in restaurants, book writing, and TV presenting would be indispensable knowledge to young leaders wishing to improve their leadership skills.
I have seen your new book and, coupled with your appearance on Junior MasterChef, it shows your love of kids! We are being realistic by accepting that to invite you would be almost impossible and rather than focus on impossible dreams, we are writing to ask
if you would like to send a short message to the young leaders who will be conference delegates. We will read aloud and visually display the message so that your wise words can be shared throughout a community of young learners. We are most grateful for your
time and thank you for any wisdom you may be able to share with us. Regards, Patrick Gigacz School Captain
Hi i would like to say thank you about this cool post, and this idea very helpful to me, Thank You
HI! I'd just like to say that I LOVE the new Junior Masterchef 2011. George, Gary, Matt and Anna are so sweet to the kids!
I've spent much of my professional career trying to replace the taint of my mother's pretty' 'average' anglo cooking only to discover the joys of her mothers (my grandmother) rich culinary traditions. At the same time 'adopting' as many culinary grandmothers as I can. Food has the capacity to transcend the age, culture and social divides.
